Chris Brander(Ryan Reynolds) and Jamie (Amy Smart) are close friends since high school. Chris is an overweight who wants to confess with Jamie on the night before their graduation day. However, Chris yearbook is read by someday aloud and he was humiliated and walk away.
After several years, Chris is now a famous record producer in Hollywood. On their way to Paris, he is stranded because of the snow and is forced to go back home with Samantha James (Anna Faris) – a psychotic ex-girlfriend pop star. He finds his old love Jamie and faces her on how to win her love. He is also competing with his former geek, the guitar-playing dusty (Chris Klein)
